BISCAST, Naga City – “While we celebrate our past, we are eager to enter the future and look forward to what this College may become.”
This was the part of President Dr. Richard Cordial’s message as he led the celebration of the 5th Charter Anniversary of Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST) last November 15-17.
With the theme “Pole-vaulting BISCAST as the Premier College for Creative and Innovative Applied Sciences and Technology”, Cordial led the two-day event emphasizing the challenges faced, achievements accomplished and aspirations carried by BISCAST as a premier applied sciences and technology institution in the country for the past five years.
According to the President, the progress of the students, staff and administration is evident and there seem to be no reason for everyone to stop.
He emphasized the effect of everyone’s effort which made BISCAST a truly remarkable school.
Cordial said, “Unlike pole-vaulting in the Olympics, we need to remember that this is a community effort. Michael Jordan once said, ‘talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.’”
He encouraged everyone to think of ways on how to continue the college’s programs and how to accomplish its goals.
He said he is happy because everyone contributes to finding solutions to ongoing challenges.
Aside from the grand opening of BISCAST 5th Charter Anniversary, several activities were held including zumba party at student pavilion. Students, faculty, staff and non-teaching personnel participated in this activity.
Inaugurations of new facilities were also conducted on the first day of charter anniversary. These facilities are the Food Technology and Entrepreneurial Activity Center, Physics and Laboratory Rooms, ManFabLab, Sports and Wellness Activity Center, BISCAST’s Coaster and the Stage.
The event highlighted too, the presentation of BISCAST Strategic Plan at ETC Hall as well as the launching of Solid Waste Management Project.
The night of November 15 turned bright as Parade of Lights was held in major streets of Naga City. It was followed by Mr. and Ms. BISCAST 2017.
On the second day, alumni, employees, students and stakeholders of the school conducted a motorcade which was followed by an Academic Festival.
In connection with this, the glam and elegance of BISCAST employees were showcased at the Anniversary Ball at Royale Emelina
